price yeah a tad high but if the demand is there and people are going to buy it good on them i say thats what business is about making money and that's what they are doing.

i will get the contract and trade in or sell my old phone so i will be on the same-ish tariff and pay what 80 quid towards the new device ... not to bad imo.

It's a lot of money to spend to then 'jailbreak' the device. Especially given Microsoft and Apples record on 'jailbroken' tech.

The battery is bigger, but the processor is faster and multitasking is now supported. There will be a much greater draw of power, and those upgrading a 3GS to OS4 will really suffer with bad battery life. Increased talk time is irrelevant as that doesn't require the screen turned on, so is a red herring.


I'm really not trying to bash it too much as it isn't out. But I'm disppointed in the lack of OLED and the solar panel patent they haven't followed up.
If it was priced much lower it could be a great device, but considering Samsung, LG, Dell and HTC's recent offerings I think it doesn't command the market as it used to.

OLED was dropped because 1) limited pixel density and 2) not enough manufacturing power to meet the global demand.

iPhone does not support Flash and never will but Safari is the first browser with full HTML5 and CSS3 support.

you say it's a lot of money to spend to then jailbreak, but plenty of people buy top end bikes then straight away start swapping cans, rear sets, levers, tyres to try and get the most out of the new machine. where as plenty of people ride the bike stock knowing it's still more capable than they will ever be at riding.

HD video.... not dabbled in HD yet nom nom... the only HD I've played with is my xbox 360 on games like fifa/forza/gta4 - yet to see what HD real world footage looks like in my living room

It makes going back to standard definition fecking annoying.

I was watching SkyHD the other night briefly and then switched to some eurosport footage of the MotoGP and it was a joke, you could barely make out the writing on the screen.

Although eurosport is about one of the worse for picture quality.

Are o2 forcing the new contracts on people? I've got an o2 business contract which is £33 a month with unlimited texts, 1200 minutes and 'unlimited' (around 200mb) data... Never gone over my data 18 months.

It might work out cheaper for me to just buy a 4g outright and maintain my existing contract
