Talking Cheers everyone!

As suggested emptied a good half a litre of engine oil so it now sits 3/4 of the way on the sight glass and gear changes have improved dramatically!

And Mark your higher octane petrol idea now means my SV starts on the button....everytime.

See start simple, and it's amazing how much cash you won't spend!

Not chucking it down the road for a whole week helps save cash too.

Next time you overfill take the trigger off of a squirty trigger pack of window cleaner or similar. Squirt out all the cleaner. Stick the pipe into your oil filler and pump excess oil out. Much cleaner if slower way of reducing oil levels. NOTE. ensure a sensible person knows what you've done and does not proceed to squirt oil over kitchen rather than Mr.Muscle.

+1 credit Jammy for sustainable feedback of success.
+1 more for Jammy for doing some miles, learning some stuff and keeping it upright

+2 each for me and Thunder for persisting the idea of simple = good and actually having it prove to be true and entirely sustainable.

Well done mate. Too much oil is uber bad for many reasons, so you've done yourself a big favour there. Not sure of exact mechanics, but you're talking pressure on seals, pistons leaking, gaskets popping and that kind of shananigans. It's basically like pumping your tyres up to 100psi and riding around expecting them not to burst.

Many issues saved by sorting that out.
