Does anyone know how I can find out the mileage on a set of 2000 SV650S clocks without a bike being available? There are 16 wires coming out of the back of the clocks, I'm assuming that if I put a battery on 2 of them, the mileage should flash up, but 16 wires, and 2 ways of putting the battery on, I think thats 512 different combinations, and probably several different ways of damaging the electronics!
I have a set of clocks that I want to sell, and I no longer have an SV. Sensible suggestions would be appreciated! |

is ther no way you can open them up 2 see wot wires come out of where the we mileage clock is???
ive never had a hoke with a set of curvy clocks so dont no if its poss 2 open up and do wot i said. |

I don't know how much of the loom you have, but the Black/White wire on the bike side of the clocks connector is the ground. You'll find there are 2 of these, so connect them both IMO.
IIRC, the live wire is the orange one, but don't hold me to that!! I know the critical wire on a pointy from the fuse box is the thick orange one, which leads to the ignition barrel. But from there I'm not entirely sure which one goes to the clocks. Just FYI, on a pointy, if the thick orange wire out of the fuse box drops to below 7.5v, you get no clocks. ![]() |

I'd be interested in how you get on.
I forgot to take an accurate reading of my mileage when i replaced my curvy clocks with the acewell digi-clock. The old set are still in the shed. There is a post of mine from waaaay back when i had to figure out the whole 16, listing them all. I'll see if i can find it. |
