So my clocks were the cause of my no-clocks problem and i swapped them for another set but at the MoT today the guy asked "what the deal with the milage then" and i told him
What do i do about the differance in mileage? My old clocks had 76+k on the and the new ones have 18k, i'm not bothered but will it cause any legal problems? |

i had to have the instrument cluster replaced on my ford focus, when they did it they stamped the service history with the old mileage and the new one started from zero, might be worth checking the service book...

done the same here-keep a note of the original and if you sell on make sure you inform the new buyer-you can get your clocks re-programmed-check your local car mag-motor market weekly etc, you'll find plenty of ads for instrument "correction".
i'm not gonna bother-plan on keeping the sv for keeps,so no need to change it-as for your mot guy-none of his business-bear in mind if you buy any vehicle without full service history there's no way the mileage can be variefied. husky |

If it were me, I'd maybe attach the speedo to a drill

17" wheel plus 2x the tyre height (2x 0.6*120mm) gives diameter. Pi*D gives rolling circumference of the wheel (1.8meters by my calculations) You need to add 58000 miles (93,500 Km) So 93,500/0.0018 km =51714791 Rotations. Then it's just down to how fast the sensor can keep up or the drill can go, but at 1000 rpm it'd take about 35 days..... Slow day at work anyone else?

Anyone know if the glass on the front of the speedo can be replaced?
If so, my speedo glass is cracked but not broken.... a bit like a stress fracture type thing. How much would you want for the glass from your broken speedo? |
