Default Baffle Screw Stripped.

Helllo Sv'ers

How do i go about removing my bafflle as i think my dad stripped the bolt on purpose becuase i kept taking the baffle out ( i did say it is a safety thing - being heard etc) do i get a dremmell and cut the head off the screw and get a pair of pliers and undo the bolt via that or what?

Sill question i know but dont want to damage the zaust.

Thanks

Ash

Pliers will do, turn the nut if it is held in by a nut and keep the screw in place.

its not held by a nut, at the bottom you screw it in with an allen key and the baffle holds it in place. Its a scorpian can if you know how they work lol!!

Ahh yeah, i had one of them, just get a small pair of pliers in and turn it where you can.

On a Scorpion, the bolt threads into the baffle itself, so if you cut the head off fron the outside, the whole thing should just fall out. Then you just get yourself a new bolt.... or not. My baffle has never been in and I've never had any unwanted attention.

See if you can grip the bolt head with some pliers, if not then you will need to cut the head off (as mentioned above) or drill the head like you do when removing a rivet. Top tip for the relacement bolt is to use a stainless steel or titanium one and to use copper grease as this will make it easier to remove in the future and it won't drop out so no need to thread lock.

Try some mini mole grips and pull as you turn it. lefty loosey, rightie tightie.

I doubt it was intentional, just that the bolts are made from crap metal

I had a go with a number of tools... the dremmel doesnt have a small enough disk to cut with without marking the can. I seem to remember my dad dabbing on some lock tight on it so that could make things even more difficult.... I dont know what else to try now lol!

I dont want to leave it as i prefer the option to have the baffle in and out. and that screw will need replacing any how.

Thanks

Ash
