Firstly appologies for posting this in two forums but as it starts in GM and ends in Selkent I thought it fair enough.......
I need to get from Fleet (M3 J4ish) to Sevenoaks on Saturday morning on the bike. Usually do it in the car M3/M25/A21 and years ago used to do it on the A25 (coz there was no M25) in the car but I'm pretty sure there must be some more bike friendly enjoyable roads further south that cover the distance without dipping too far south. Sort of Edenbridge - Tonbridge kind of direction. Any recommendations? Cheers, Mark.

The A323 out of fleet to guildford then dropon the A25. Its not that bad a road to be honest.
If you want to drop a bit further down then A323 to Guildford, then the A25 to godstone, then the A22 to East grinstead, then the A264 to Tunbridge wells, then the A26 to tonbridge then the B245 towards Sevenoaks (Follow this road to sevenoaks) oooooor As above but turn off the A264 onto the B2026 (You'll miss the best part of the 264) via Ednebridge then the B2027 to riverhead, then follow the signs to sevenoaks. Job done. There are lots of little fiddly roads that a much fun if you look around that area. |

There is a nother little bit.
B3001 farnahm to milford then pick up hte A286 to Godalming Then B2130 to the A281, cross to the B2128 to Capel crossing the A29 then down the A24 to the a264 (Dual carridgeway) picking up the A2220 through Crawley or go via the M23 from pease pottage and pick up the A2220 the other side of Crawley to Feldbridge, then into Est grinstead and pick up the A264 then part of one of the above routes. |

Cheers. Looking at the map and your recommendations I think I've settled on ....
GUILDFORD A281 SHALFORD, CRANLEIGH, HORSHAM A24 HORSHAM A264 CRAWLEY M23 J11-J10 A264 EAST GRINSTEAD A22 EAST GRINSTEAD A264 ASHURST TUNBRIDGE WELLS A26 SOUTHBOROUGH TONBRIDGE B245 HILDENBOROUGH SEVENOAKS A225 KEMSING OTFORD Looks like the combination of not taking all day to get there but some interesting bits en-route.

Cheers Viney.
The 264 from EG - TW is fantastic once you get out of the 30's and 40's. Started to run out of time so had to hit the A21 from TW to Sevenoaks but all in all a great road. thanks.
