so I've recently been thinking more and more about leaving this country behind and moving to canada. does anyone from here have experience of it?
I'm going to have graduated from uni next year and really fancy a change, I would love to work a ski season, and feel realistically I've only got a few years left I can do this in. so my thoughts were move over on a bunac working visa and bum around the ski stuff for winter and then maybe move to a bigger city and look for a proper job in my line of work. this would allow me a chance to see what life is like out there. but I'd be quite aprehensive about leaving the job I have, they have paid 5yrs uni fees and I will have a good job with 5yrs experience. but I feel I would like the outdoor lifestyle in Canada more. I love snowboarding and biking (mountain and motor) but looking to see if anyone done the big jump and how it went etc... |

Why, how old are you? I lived and worked in Australia at 27 and also lived in Sweden for a year at 30. Living in London now and know I wont be in the UK for the rest of my thirties. Responsibilities tie you to a place not your age.
Plus doing a ski season is hardly emigrating? |

go for it man , no one can change your life but you , take it to the limit ....sure it wont be easy at first but with a little time and dedication on your part there is nothing you can't accomplish.
many times i thought of doing a similar thing but I'm just chicken (****) |

yeah sorry the original post was a bit rambling, but I want to go over play in the snow for the season then maybe look to get a permanent job. the reason for saying I've got a couple of years is once I finish uni if I stay here I'll want to get a house and I'll be settled properly in my job, and it's a good well payng job, great pension, good benefits etc.... jus wondering how hard is it to just leave it all behind??

If your current employer has paid for uni fees and course....then its possible that you may be tied into them.....or pay them back if you leave within a certain time period of completeing the course.
Although if your buggering off to canada, they would have a job on their hands tryign to reclaim it.

Do it!!! Do it!!! Canada is amazing but then I was only there for a week or so. I think you should experience it for a year to give yourself a good idea of whether its for you or not.

You only live once.....
I did 6 months in the Canary Islands when I left uni, 2 years in Rochester, NY with work when I was 26 and loved it. Would highly recommend Canada... people and place are awesome. It's king cold though. |
