This is strange , don't know what happened but i've read a bit about riding and there is something called "Couter Steering" , Could this be what happened?

That's just fscking nuts! How the crap did either rider survive that?
It's bad enough for the front rider to go wide on that bend, it doesn't look that bad on the camera, just that he took it too fast & didn't have the guts to lean more. He made a good decision to go left IMO, but that takes some balls. I think the guy with the camera just got lost in the moment & wasn't concentrating on what he was doing. Very lucky not to be hit by the car himself as it swerves to avoid his friend. I'm not religious, but someone was looking out for those guys. |

Just a plain old **** up, by a rider who made a mistake.
It's hard to understand why as the curve isn't tight, the lean angle isn't at all great and the speed is low. A good example of a mistake by a, relative, novice.

Look at the road surface!!!
It's covered with loads of potholes. The road is poorly maintained, the surface is damaged & he swerves to avoid a pot hole. That road is not european standard, the camera is only picking up some of the debris on that road. You don't want to lean too far in if you could go straight into a hole! He was one lucky man though!!! |

Just a major $hit yourself moment ... looks like he either clipped car with bar very slightly or decided to change sides of the road rather than just make the corner. Lucky barsterd anyway/

he drifted wide, probably not paying attention
that meant he was too close to the oncoming black 4x4 on his left to countersteer back into the bend, his only option was to get the bike upright to avoid hitting the car on his left if he'd stayed at the lean angle he was at when the black 4x4 went past he'd have gone straight into the second oncoming car, if he'd tried to go to the right of the oncoming car he'd have pushed the bike left into the black 4x4 passing him, so going left was the only option doesn't look like an unskilled rider though, my bet would be someone who knows what they're doing but was distracted for a moment by the plastic knockers on the girl in the oncoming car, as it's in brazil...

I wish YouTube had a Slow Motion option when watching videos , but it looks as though all of the pot holes are filled in (every one of them).
I think you all are correct though , rider mistakes ...and that brings me to another Question Does everyone who rides eventually crash? , i mean is it a written rule that this will happen or are there any of you who have gone without incident !!!!!! . |

Yes...unless you give up riding before it happens. Might be as minor as a tipover in the carpark....or worse as you can imagine.... Depending of course, on the cirumstances of the accident. While most crashes occur during the first few years... sooner or later...you're going to make a mistake and gravity will win out. I went from the early eighties (1981 or 1982 ?) till 2008 between crashes. (on a streetbike) Highsided in July.... ![]() Lets see..... Dangerous mountain road, poor weather/road conditions, already 250 (nearly) non stop miles though the mountains, bike running intermittently on one cyl. ... Who could have seen a crash coming???? ![]() My worse one to date...shattered collarbone, broken ribs, messed up knee. But all better now and riding again!!! (winter weather permitting) ![]() There's an old saying... "There's only 2 kinds of bikers.... Those who have crashed and those who've yet to crash." Doesn't mean you're going to be hurt but certainly just riding a motorcycle is taking that risk. There is a bit of danger involved!!! To some that's an acceptable risk..to others it's not. That's why riding is not for everyone.
