Going to get one ater the new year but not sure wether to go for the standard or touring kit. I have finally given in and now see the benefits due to my 12-13K a year milage and my lazyness of oiling up my chain
![]() I like the standard because of the size, but i reckon i will be topping it up every couple of weeks. I like the touring because of the fluid capacity, but it looks so big and would have to go under the seat and will fill the tiny bit of room i have. How easy is it to re-fill them? Any pics of anyone who has one fitted? |

The Scottoiler Tour is actually designed to be mounted behind the number plate.
To be honest, unless you are going to travel thousands of miles without being able to top up the oil I would go for the original. The are more places to mount the original too, under the rear seat, behind the seat cowl, on the frame side..... |

IIRC correctly, thought Scotoiler dont recommend that you fit the touring on one the pointy snow shovel as its not meant to take the weight and it breaks the snow shovel.
Standard one will do you just fine, Liz commutes 120 miles per day and hers will need filling after about 1000 miles or so. Refiling is a piece of p*ss. Just remove the breather pipe plug and then pour the oil in the hole on the Resevoir. If you buy the scotoiler refiles they come with a pipe that makes refiling much easier. If I'm going on a long trip I just take a bottle of scotoil with me and tuck it into my luggage or under the seat.

Standard kit matey. If you find you filling it up more often than you like, you can get a lubetube flexible reservoir to add to the original Scottoiler. This trebles oil capacity and can be stuffed into all sorts of nooks and crannies. I have one on the viffer and together with the standard scotty can go 3000 miles without a top up.
