The headlights on my 675 are poor to say the least - I hate having only one light on dip. And on beam (two) they're not very good. The trip home from Ashbourne yesterday was challenging cos I couldn't see worth a damn.
So I'm thinking of a HID upgrade. Before I splash out the shekels - has anyone done this upgrade to their bike (of whatever make)? What kit did you go for, 35/55? Will 55 burn out the wiring? Is the spend worth it? I need a plug and play thing as I'm hopeless with electrics. I just found this one, Not cheap at all, I daresay there are others cheaper, this is just the first one I've come across, but I can't bear not being able to see where I'm going. http://www.triumph-online.co.uk/dayt...sts-4872-p.asp Anyone? 55 will be fine as with any sense you will use a relay off the battery.
Do some of the leg work for us would you and find out what manner of bulbs the 675 uses...

also, you probably don't want to be installing HID on the high beam bulb, the HID systems take about 3 to 5 seconds to warm up and stabilise, during this time the light output goes from less than halogen to unsteady to stable - i wouldn't want to install it on a high beam where i could need to flash the lights to someone - stick to HID on the low beam and install a good halogen bulb for the high beam, if i end up with a daytona that's what i'll be doing my SV kit was from www.HIDs4u.co.uk and i can't fault them for service or performance, if you insist on doing both lo/hi beam then you need kit #H1PROMB89 - £97.86 - to do just the lo beam then get #H7PROBIKE - £48.93 one thing you don't mention is temperature, 6000K will look white with a blue tint, 4300K will look similar to halogens and output more light (not that 6000K is short on light output though...)

Pointy SV and it's dead easy as long as you have a basic idea of building circuits, soldering etc etc

As TLW says, better to leave the high beam one as a halogen, perhaps just fit a better bulb of the same wattage.
Does dip beam stay on when you switch to main?
