Default Hole in intake rubber?

Cleaned up my secondhand engine and put it on the bench ready for the rebuild and i noticed a hole in the rear rubber tube the carbs go onto. Does a vacuum hose go into it or has it been bored for a scotoiler vacumm hose feed. thanks Cammy

Vacuum hose, should have a brass spigot on it.

Vacuum for the fuel tap comes from the rear carb. Vacuum for the fuel pump comes from the hole ... it should be on the right hand side of the rear rubber IIRC.

A tube pushes onto a brass spigot. If it's just a hole then they've probbly yanked the hose and spigot out. as one bit.
