Just wondered if anyone had the same problem as me? I bought a 350mm Delkevic can for my 1999 sv but I'm having some problems. First of all they've only sent me one bracket for the link pipe (but that's apparently being sorted), and now I've noticed the main bracket that holds the can has been rubbing against the swingarm when the suspension is compressed.......leaving scratches (acting like a bumpstop).
From searching on svrider it seems that the Delkevic cans fit the pointy Sv's well but not the curvies with other people having similar problems. Basically the link pipe is the wrong shape for my bike. They stated on the advert though that it was meant to fit all models. I've tried moving the link pipe about, but when it's on properly it leaves the can slanting in towards the wheel slightly leading to the scratches. Do you think I have a case to get my money back? As much as I like the look of the exhaust I've had to resort to taping a piece of card on the swingarm to stop it being more scratched. I think now I would prefer a replacement, one that fits properly. What would you do? ![]() ![]() ![]() See the arrow below where the rubber on the bracket has been worn away....leaving scratches on the swingarm ![]() Any help appreciated ![]() Last edited by Mr Farley; 20-06-09 at 03:49 PM. |

Send the photos to Delkevic or something, ask for a replacement since it's obviously not fitting right..

Can the exhaust band can be reversed pushing the silencer out, or is it symmetrical?

The trouble is, that after all the clips and brackets are done up the exhaust keeps returning to this position, and is pretty rock solid. I'll have a look, thanks for the help. Edit...just checked and the bracket is symmetrical so turning it round didn't move the exhaust (it's practiaclly impossible to move at all, the link pipe just seems to be at the wrong angle). Looks like I'll be calling the ebayer up next week ![]() Last edited by Mr Farley; 20-06-09 at 05:04 PM. |

Try cutting another inch off the exhaust where the slip on joins to it.
I did this when fitting the high level on my pointy. If you cut a bit off the can will slide further forward and will "tip out" a little further. |

The trouble is I don't want to cut to much off and end up with no exhaust at all ![]() |
