Hi all,
I wanna remove the tank from k6s pointy, so i can spray it. Ive had a look at the manual, and I know how to prop it up, but how to remove it completely from the bike? cheers ________ Sweet_Asianlady Last edited by ibshort; 19-08-11 at 12:33 AM. |

thanks alot for that darren,
right im stuck now!!! Got hoses off, but cant get the tank off, cant figure out this bit: 'Unscrew the nut and withdraw the pivot bolt securing the rear of the tank to the bracket on the frame, then remove the prop and lift the tank away. Note the spacer for the bolt in the bracket.' At the rear of tank, theres a bracket with 4 nuts on it, that you cant really get to...what the trick??? Oh, and there some petrol dripping out the fuel pipe when i move it about..., how should i stop this? thanks alot ________ WEB SHOWS Last edited by ibshort; 19-08-11 at 12:34 AM. |

Right, seeing as I've done it several times whilst my tank gets new cloths, I can tell you it's easy!
You need a long socket, I think 12mm. Take off the front seat and side panels, prop the tank up and then, under the arch at the top of the frame on the right side, you'll be able to get the socket onto a bolt you can see on the side of the hinge unit you described. Undo it and draw the very long bolt out. Tank off, voila! The fuel feed is a press fit, squeeze the two tabs in and slide pipe off. The two breather pipes are different sizes, so you can't muddle them up. There will be an electric plug to undo aswell. I siphoned off the excesss fuel and donated it to Mrs BP's car! If you need a hand, give me a shout! Pete The fuel pump must be left in, the painter will mask it off.

Matt black again, got some scratches and chips im trying to sort out.
I reckon, grit it all down, smooth it, prime it, smooth and then a couple of coats of paint. Not going to bother with laquer? See how it turns out lol. ________ California medical marijuana Last edited by ibshort; 19-08-11 at 12:34 AM. |

Might scratch easy if you don't lacquer. Good luck though
