Default Eyesight Question

Had my eyes tested today as I needed a form filling in for a possible new job.

Seemingly, the SPH (sphere) in both eyes has changed by 1.75 in my right eye and 1.5 in my lift.

If this is the case, would this warrent me needing a new pair of glasses (well, lense in my current ones?)

I'm a little bermuised as she said that only my left eye had slightly changed but both the sphere's have. I have not had to get new glasses. They have both gone to the maximum limit that is allowed for the job.

Any help would be muchly apprecated !

Didn't they tell you at the time?

I'm certainly no expert, but I do have a particular interest in these things, spending a lot of time having my eyes tested and talking to opthalmic consultants. From what I know, that's quite a big drop and new specs would probablhy be a good idea. (It's easier if you werar contact lenses because you can just order a different strength for your next batch.)

I had my annual eye test last week and there was a difference to the sphere of both my eyes (less than the figures you have quoted)

i got new lense for my glasses and the strength of my left contact increased - the difference in the clarity of my sight was noticably better, especially with the contacts which are now just as good as my glasses.

If i were you i'd speak to the optician again as i imagine a change like that will require some correction to your existing lense prescription.

just my 2p,

Roo

I've got an eye test this afternoon.
I'm long sighted and wear my glasses when it feels like my heads gonna cave in but lately I'm having trouble focusing when out on the bike...
Could be time for some contacts I think.

Thanks for the replies guys. I have no issues with headaches/focussing etc and I feel as though my eyes have not changed in any way.

Going to go question the change in my optician and then find another optician to go get my eyes tested at.
