Car Trouble
My golf started whining on the way home tonight
 The noise increases/decreases with speed, not revs. So I'm thinking it will be a diff gone  How much will that cost to fix..... £1m? £2m? Or should I just turn the music up a bit more and ignore it until it snaps? grrrr I hate cars

Could also be, 1 of your brake discs has a stone or something wedged or more likely a wheel bearing has gone, which is a hell of lot cheaper than a drive shaft.
Check your brake discs to see if they are very worn and the pads, if they are worn right down they will make a horrendous noise, albeit normally only when braking. |
