Default Doris the SV turns 70

Yup on the M4 today about 15 miles past Membury Services amidst the pouring rain, and the cold, she rolled round 70000 miles.

I salute you oh little SV. You have had to put up with lugging this lump of a rider round for a little over 10 years. You have been crashed, sprayed fixed, oiled, commuted, and been geenrally the funnist thing you can do with your clotes on for those 10 years. Due to you i have met lots of epople, had laughs and i now have what i consider to be a group of friends that i wouldn't have had with out you

I remember buying you on that cold December day in 2000 and you have been a good firend. I hope that you have enjoyed those 70000 miles as much as i have?

May you enjoy your semi retirement and live on.

Thanks Doris.

I agree, lets see a pic of the old girl.

70 000 miles, there was me worrying because my SV had just turned 13 000!

Any major repairs done or regular servicing you would recommend to keep them going like this?

No not really. She gets an oil change around every 5k and other bits replacing as and when needed. Other than the usual bits that go wrong on sv's, Reg/Recs etc, shes fine. She was running like a dream in the rain yesterday and even lifted her front wheel in the rain away form a set of lights yesterday...totally unintentional. I was so cold i didn't realise what was going on for a few seconds
