Cam chain problems - rattling.
Hi all
I have a sv650 K3 with 13000miles on it. At 3000 & 5000 revs there is a really loud rattling noise, both front and rear cam chain tensioners have been replaced with new, but this made no difference. I've even tried a suggestion of putting the bike in gear and pushing it backwards to reset it, but no to joy. If any one has any ideas or advice for me that would be great, and very much appreciated. Thanks |

At 13k? - im suprised.

Learn to maintain your bike, take it apart, rebuild the engine & more (using better bolts  ), drop it & fix it again!K3 Job c.v: Engine:remove/split/rebuild/refit. Replace:Gearbox,Fuel pump,Gaskets. Piston clean,rings. Overhaul:Throttle body,Injectors,Brakes,Forks. Remove/refit:Exhaust,Radiator,Oil cooler,Throttle,Air filter,Tank. Replace: Oil,Coolant,grease,brake hoses & bleed. |

very hard to tell without being able to see/hear it. Can you describe the sound, better still record it and post up here

If the CCT or the chain were on the way out, you'd here it all the way through the range.
Mine has done this in the past and taking it for a long run to get everything up to full temperature has cured it

ive been out on a few runs on it but its no difference. it has been stood over winter with just the occassional run up.
