Default Leeds Local Knowledge

I'm going to be doing a couple of courses in January and February up in Pudsey.

I was thinking of driving up on the day but the nearer I get the less appealing that is... The Leeds Ibis has some bloody cheap rooms on the nights I'm looking for, but there's no parking included.

Can anyone tell me somewhere (safe) that I can park in the centre overnight that won't cost me more than the cost of the room? I will probably be in the cage, but if it turns out to be good weather there's no reason I couldn't be on the bike.

Thanks

There is a premier inn across the road from the Ibis with parking.

My daughter lives about a mile down Kirkstall road from there. Plenty of free parking in the side streets and never had a problem with theft, vandalism etc. So if the Ibis is so cheap, dump the car down the road and get a bit of exercise.

but if you are in Pudsey, WTF do you want to stay in Leeds for.

Student area of Kirkstal isn't too bad but a little down the road and I certainly wouldn't want to leave a car there over night.

+1 to what Tim said though Tommy Pudsey and Leeds may look close on a Map but you're just as well staying Bradford way, it'll be cheaper and the traffic will be lighter than Leeds.

What course is it you're up here for pal?

TBH people who've done it before reckon it's do-able travelling from home. But that would mean a 2 hour journey (not accounting for rush hour traffic) before a 9am start..... and it's a pretty intensive day from what I've been told.

The £25 room appealed to me.

I'm going to be doing a course in Orion which is CSCs concrete frame modelling (FE) software. Hopefully got a nice £8m flat slab coming up in the near future...

That's cruel you could have in dossing in Manningham.

OK, commutable. But a horror called the M62, major roadworks with about 10 miles of 50mph SPEC cameras. Although if you manage to get upto 30 in a morning you will be doing very well.

Commute from Staffs to Puds by 9am... you're setting off before 6am, if not then you're going to be late lol.
At £25 I'd take a room for sure, you'll be better somewhere nearer though.

You're not wrong about the cheaper either.

£19 per/night at PremierInn Bradford.

Cheers.

For Pudsey you need the Travel Lodge - http://www.travelodge.co.uk/hotels/117/Bradford-hotel

On Pudseys doorstep.

Now you'll need some curry recommendations.
