Hi,

I'm wondering if the new model's rear shock will fit the older model?

Cheers,
Owen

Question - why?!

If you're shock is broken, replace it with something decent

Well i was just wondering, that's all.

I'm fgetting a few things done on the SV:

K & N filter
Dynojet Kit
Ohlins Internal fork springs
High Compressions Pistons (Possibly i'm going for the overbore one....700cc )

I had though of changing the rear shock but i don't know what to get!?

I had a look at the Ohlins rear shock....very expensive!!

I got a GSX-R1000 K1 shock for £40 inc post off of ebay. Not sure if it'll fit a curvey SV, but did the world of good for mine

SK3-4 shocks are slightly shorter than original and best models shocks.
SRAD shocks fits original model. Shorter GSXR1000 shocks will fit ugly pointy model.....

Drop the K&N. The BMC is much better and only £55 inc. P&P from UK distributor.

Yup, that's the gneeral oppinion on the filters, not tried it meself yet Busa shocks also fit, but you need to displace your battery, same with Kwak 636 and ZX10R shocks (some people love the 636 shock, some hate it)

And the big bore... I've just been offered an Ebay second chance offer on the JE kit 2mm overbore, 13:1 kit, $250 plus postage & duties and I've got 1 day 18 hours to decide... Fret fret fret.

Personally I reckon the Ohlins is just more than you need for road use, don't get me wrong, I love mine but it's way more performance than I need. For what i paid for it, I'm delighted, but I think I'd be less happy if I'd paid full ticket. SRAD shock can be had for a tenner, and it's probably 90% as good as the Ohlins.

WHo sez the BMC filter is better?
I only paid £49- for my K&N and I got it from my local bike shop. They did cut me a deal coz I bought pads, oil and had a dynorun. 74 BHP on the rear wheel with dynojet, K&N plus Zorstec hi level can. How would a BMC improve on that?
