Default Dented fuel tank

Can anyone tell me if the tank on a k4 is internally painted, as I've just put a big dent in it, which isn't really an issue for me, unless it has paint inside to line it.

Don't know 100%, but I wouldn't have thought so!

It definitely is not painted on the inside. I think it may have some kind of zinc coating on it but if it does it's only a few microns thick and nothing to be concerned about. Since it's metallic it wouldn't crack and fall off from the bending/creasing force.

lol imagines the concept of a little man running around inside your fuel tank with a spray gun using 1\2 a litre of base coat then 1\4 of a litre of laquer using his airfed mask of course

but heres another way of looking at it

if it was painted and it used 1\2 a litre total in paint = £10 say

if there are 10,000 svs that would mean suzuki have paid out £100,000

just to paint them

seeing as petrol by its very nature is an anti oxidising agent i think suzuki would prefer the £100,000 in there pockets dont you ????

ok so i chewed his head of a bit but next time we are all bitching about things think of £1 x £10,000 then you see why they do it
