Right over the weekend I got sunburn.. but in the process managed to change my brake pads and hoses (front only) to EBC HH and some HEL twin lines.
I'm happy with the brake pressue after bleeding etc - just a quick question on the master cylinder. Should there be any air gap between the fluid level and the rubber diaphragm in the master cylinder? When I took the lid off, the diaphragm had been sucked down and there didn't look like there was any air gap. Any guidance would be very helpful.. ![]() |

The diaphragm's supposed to suck down- when you remove fluid from the reservoir that makes a space that has to be filled, and since the fluid can't be open to the air as it'd soon soak up moisture and go off, the diaphragm keeps it sealed in and squashs down to fill the space. This creates another space above it, where it doesn't have to be airtight. That's an awful explanation but it's factually accurate
