Default To re-spray?

What do we reckon to doing an all over re-spray? Do most people look on them as if to say "that bike's obviously been dropped that's why he's changed the colour"?

But if you make a good job of it is it likely to have a massive impact on your resale value and saleability, so long as it's not a naff colour?

My bike is a 2000 model anyway, so it's not worth a fortune (in blue just to fill you in on the details.)

One for debate I think...

As for re-sale - had a few offers from site members already

Cool, I should be ok then so long as it's not made a hash of!!! I've got a couple of ideas, but I don't want to release them in case they get poached!!!

I'm in the middle of mine, I'll tell you if it was a good idea once I'm finished Some people will probably look on it as being accident damage repair, but I'll not be selling in a hurry. Well done, tasteful paint jobs can sometimes add to the value of a bike, especially a common one- but tawdry race rep jobs usually cut you more.

I know mine will be worth more in its new clothes than it is at the moment, with every single panel having a scratch or a crack
