Default to spray or not to spray?

My 2000 svs is looking a bit tatty after numerous voyages along the West country's finest surfaces and I was wondering if anyone knew of an approximate price for a complete respray? I'll be keeping it the same colour as original and also having the lowers and cowl done to match

I found a small car body repair shop that would do the bike for £250. It was a basic offer, just the one color. But they would lat me come in and add any stikers (you've seen the sets and such like in the back of M&P) before appling the laquer over it all.

Thought this was very resonable as most other places were asking around the £800 mark. Unfortunatly I ran out of money and now have no spare cash so never took them up on it. So the road rash stays

However I would say I've only heard bad thing about Dream Machine

Dream Machine have aquired a bit of a rep for ignoring the customer's requests and spraying what they think will look best...

I'm going to spray mine meself, but that's because I'm a goon. A pro job almost certainly makes more sense.

I think you're being a bit hard on yourself Andy, you made a nice job of that front end for instance.

I don't know if I'm a goon or not but I sincerely hate painting, and I'm lousy at it too, so I don't bother.

You see, if I make sure everyone's got really low expectations, they'll be impressed when they see the results, no matter how iffy

If I were you I'd get a good car bodyshop to do the spraying, prep it yourself. You'll save heaps on labour and can feel all smug as you say you did most of the work yourself! :P

Also, as I mentioned in another thread earlier, Suzuki colourmatched paint costs a bleedin' fortune. AFAIK, all Sv's are pearlescent and that costs more to do. Seeing as it's a full respray, get as close a match to a car colour, or why not get it done in a unique shade for your SV, to your tastes?
