Default When installing a new chain....

....it comes will a waxy grease on it. Do you leave this on or wash it all off and re-lube?

Leave it on, it'll protect the chain.

Leave it there, it's the same grease that's used inside the chain links when they're constructed, and if you look after the chain and thus the 'O' rings, it'll stay in there.
