You can do it yourself, all you have to do is pull or cut 2 wires. But if I try to tell you which ones I'll get it wrong and you'll kill me It was on sv650.tk, but the site doesn't seem to be there any more.

Got it...

Now, I have heard it said that the Gpack does more than the wire cut... But I've not tried that.

It's honestly, truly, genuinely not worth doing. You won't notice the slightest difference. If you want to advance the ignition then replace the standard Woodruff key with a 4 degree advanced one - that's noticeable and gives a much fatter torque curve.

Some people do feel a difference though... Nutty did, and IIRC so did Rictus. I didn't, but a lot of people whose opinions are pretty reliable (IMO) do

If I'd felt it then I'd feel totally happy to say it's just my imagination One guy on SV Rider maintains he can hardly keep the front wheel on teh ground since doing it.

I'm absolutely convinced (and would lay a pound to a penny) that if you had two identical bikes and one had the tre mod and one didn't that if you did a blind test with the rider not knowing which was which, then the results would end up 50/50.

Well, who am I to argue?

Yes it does make a difference, as stated it is generally to responsiveness, not outright power and only in 2nd & 3rd gear on the carb'ed models.

I didn't check out the link for it but I feel you're better off doing the mod at the ignition module behind the pillion seat rather than mucking around under the tank.

It does appear to be a more noticeable improvement with the last couple of years of the carb'ed model than the early ones.
