When at Silverstone the other day, (see 'What I did yesterday' in Biking Issues), there was a chap that some of you may have heard of called Mick Grant. He is a racer of enormous international repute and is a bit good, he raced from the early seventies and rode a variety of exotic stuff from British bikes like the famous Triumph triple 'Slippery Sam' on which he won the TT in '74, (he won 7 TTs all tolled), through to GP bikes including the infamous NR500. He was doing some suspension stuff for some of the other people there, I asked him about a setup for the SV which he said he would look at, but unfortunately I was too busy to get the bike over to him.
Possibly the bikes for which he is best remembered are the Kawasaki two stroke triples, the H2R, of which he had two with him:

Mick did a session or two on a Suzuki four, which was on track at the same time as me - it sounds glorious

Mick is standing, on the bike is a lucky lucky man who has just done a few laps on that wonderful bike:
