Default Chain length/rear sprocket question

If i put the sprocket from a naked sv on my 99 S model does the 1 tooth extra mean i will need the 110 link chain or can i still use the 108 link chain. Two more links sounds a lot for only one more tooth , are the swingarms different lengths between the naked and the S?

Don't quote me on this... and definitely do your homework... but I'm pretty sure most new chains come a few links long anyway. So you should be able to measure and then cut (or whoever is changing your chain). Just my two cents even though I've never changed sprockets before. So don't take my word for it as Lavar Burton would say. Hehe. Just trying to get you started here.

I am sure you will need a longer chain, I was looking at getting a larger (more teeth) sprocket on my K3(S) but it would mean I new chain, which I couldn't afford. I would say get the sprocket and change it when you chain is up for replacement, the prices between 108 & 110 are minimal. Basically depends on how much money you have!

Cheers,

B

swingarm is same length, the nekid swingarm is effectivly longer cause the 110 link chain lets the wheel set a few mm back further

a 108 chain is just barely too short for the 15/45 sprocket combo when everything is new
