Default Help! Flat battery..

Hi!

Washing the bike today and left the lights on for a bit. Sparkling bike all ready for a wee ride and so on I jump... only to find it wouldn't turn over Tried a few times and the battery just became weaker ..

Can you jump start a bike or am I better to charge the battery? If so what's the best way to go about charging it up?

Any advise would be much appreciated..

jump start it just like a car (you know how right?)and then stick it on a trickle charger(optimate or something like that ,starting with jump leads is easy ,no prob -to- ,+to+ and pref the car running ,itll fire up no prob

OK, off to try and jump start it now from my car. I tried to push start it earlier, in gear with clutch in but it didn't seem too happy (hence my reference to being wee! ). Hope I haven't done any damage??

if you push (bump) start a bike and your not used to doing it letting the clutch out whilst on the throttle can be quite hairy

I'd had my SV650S (curvy) for 3 days when I had to be push started. I must admit it was quite an experience. It takes a damn good shove to fire 2 322.5cc cylinders into life. My poor brother who was pushing me was knackered Anyway it bumped in 2nd and started. I'm not sure if it works on the pointys due to them being fuel injected.
