GRRR ARRGHHH Some People

ARE JUST F-ING RETARDED...

Coming into London, just coming towards blackheath commen. Its a straight bit of road for about 1000m with a X roads (Lights) in the middle. Coming up to the lights, they are red. 2 lanes and im in the outside, car to my left about 5 car lengths back, BMW behined me also about 5 car lengths back. Im off throttle and swearve left to right, not in a dangerous way, small bounces leaving a good 1-2 ft to each line in my lane. All of a sudden i hear beeeeepp beeeeeeeeeeep beeeep??? Stop at the lights, turn around and some lovely chap in a 5 series Beemer is giving it all the hand signals, the arm accross neck death line, calling me an idiot (i was doing about 10-15mph..) blah blah whinge.. I laugh, give him a polite V sign, turn back around. Lights go green, i knock it into 1st, pull away. Car to my left has booted it so is in front.

The guy in the bmw then shoot inside me then swings straight accross my front forcing (Nothing on inside lane, the other car carried on booting it) me into on-coming traffic (didn't know till he was coming past then cut me straight up) so i put on the brakes and pull in behined. I just see red, firslt he's calling ME dangerous then he nearly takes me off my bike. So i indicate, pull to the inside lane, shoot past, pull in front well clear and come off throttle and slow down, he gets right up my ar5e so i just stop in the outside lane, got off my bike and run over to his car and procceeded to spent the next few minutes f-ing and raving how dare he call me dangerous when he's just done that (aye, he keeps his window up, happy to give it the mouth though...). Im still in "red" mode and punching the hell out his drivers window. BMW glass is strong.

I feel better, calmly walk to my bike, give him a polite V sign again and carry on my way.

Later on i catch up to the guy who was originally on my left at the lights. I ask him "scuse me mate, was i going mad back there or riding dangerously or was he just being a C*nt??." THe bloke replies "he's being a retarded f-ing c*nt mate, (his word) some people, they having got a f-ing clue how to drive mate, don't worry, you were riding fine".

OK, you had a run in with an idiot. But his colour has nothing to do with the fact he was an idiot so I hardly think the term "black Ponce" is hardly relevant. And such a bigotted description does little to get me on you side.

Taking him on and hitting his windows is simply asking for trouble. If the guy just happened to be part of a gang you could have ended up with a gun in your face. He obviously felt aggrieved/angry enough to give you a mouthful whilst you had him stopped. Relax, enjoy the ride in and forget the idiots there are simply to many of them.

Journey in by bike = awful. Not the first time you've posted on it.

Journey in by train = awful. You've posted quite a bit on it.

Job = not great. You've posted quite a bit on that, too.

From my experience, it is more indicative of the South East and South London.
Drivers certainly seem to be more aggressive, probably down to the overcrowding
in this corner of the Country. Man I need to leave the S.E.

Your right, don't like it, but have a big whinging meeting this afternoon where im going to say exactly what i think. I also ahve 2 interviews on friday for new jobs.

I know. Got to stick at it. Just a few more years till im happy with my skills level in IT, then i can consider looking for a role outside london, or even better, outside this country..

Funny enough, as I posted I though, ooo eerrr, im whinging a lot here..

Tim, your right, im mearly putting my experience. If he was white, he would have been a white ponce. (Please see my 2nd reply....) He tried to take me out on purpose. He wouldn't have had a gun, sometimes you can just tell..

And when i was going mad, he never said a word, but was happy to f and rave and give hand signals whilst i was on my bike, then try to knock me off. But thats ok?

Yes they are. AFAIC 90% of drivers are dangerous and shouldn't be on the road (a fair number of bikers too).

Your right, I should not be angry by colour, creed or nationality and generally don't, BUT this is an observation over 7 years riding to london and seeing all types of drivers.

And I hate to say it, but the same rule applies nearly everywhere i go. Rich white drivers and other kinds.

Maybe its just the training people receive in london (or lack of it) that makes them such bad drivers. I could come up with at least 10 dangerous manouvers I see per day, and they can be male, female, white, black, indian, asain. (like on Monday when a white blonde girl ina Ka went down the whole of the hard shoulder on the A2 at at LEAST 50mph) just to miss the traffic jam...

But only the mentioned wound me up so much today. And i've started my new year off with a lot more relaxed attitude, no rushing about, let idiots do their thing etc, but what if a car had been coming in the other direction and i'd have been forced into them? Do you think the bloke would have stopped??????
