This time at least it wasn't my fault.
Waiting at a sliproad type give way junction coming out of Tescos in Trowbridge. I'm stationary at the front of the queue. Woman behind in an Mx5 drove into the back of me. Luckily at very slow speed, but I still dropped the bike. I then jumped up and waved my arms about in an angry Mediterranean fashion accompanied by swearing. No new damage as far as I can see, as it went down on the left hand side that has the scars from my incident before christmas. Also fortunate as I had a chorizo sausage and a large jar of pickled chilli peppers stuffed down the front of my jacket, but both survived intact. |

Glad to hear you're ok.
Did you politely suggest she get some glasses? |

Jesus Mac
Try and keep it upright... Kidding, glad you are ok and that you have received no damage to your sausage and peppers. See you at the Roo tomorrow?

I don't think she was on the phone, just a lapse of concentration. What she said was 'my foot slipped' , but the impact didn't feel big enough to be due to dumping the clutch without stalling. I reckon that she was edging forward to close the gap and just didn't stop at the right place. Probably looking over her right shoulder at the oncoming traffic.
Once I'd taken the 15 seconds or so to calm down, I was hardly bothered about even getting her details. Funny reaction I suppose, but I just wasn't interested in forcing through an insurance claim just because I could. I did take down her details of course, and I'll have a better look over the bike when I have time. And no, I wasn't dazzled by her charms or anything. She was late middle aged, A bit too old for me, more in stretchie's territory. ![]() |
