ok....read a lot and learned a lot....

currently have a w reg sv with 5k on clock....tyres are metzeler z4's

i take it these are originals and are far worse than z6's which are a good tyre..

i use bike for a 2 mile commute 3-4 days a week....(yes i know i should get a push bike)

i want tyres that will take me to work and back in sun rain hail snow....and let me have a nice sunny 50 miles when i feel the need...

i assume metzeler z6's are perfect for me....

where is the best place to get them somewhere near wigan and how much?????

cheers 4 any advice

Yep Z4's were the standard fitment for the Curvey SV and by all accounts nasty things to.

Personal experience leads me to recommend the Z6 tyre I love em, bloomin ace. Should suit your needs admirably.

Listen to the Fizzmeister, for he speaketh wise words.

The Z6 is, IMHO, a great allround tyre. I have them on my SV1000 and think they are ace - loads of grip in all conditions.

I changed my tyres about 3 weeks ago to the new Avon Storms and I found them fantastic. Great grip both wet and dry and supposedly have some funny stuff going on to prevent it squaring off quickly.

Also if you're an unlucky bugg3r like me, who gets a puncture in the rear one after about 150 miles, they come with a road hazard warranty for the first 1mm of wear. Still had the dimple things on mine so all I had to pay for was the fitting (£12.50).

i went for a ride with a mate today ..both on sv's we swapped for a little and both couldnt believe the difference....hes on dunlops well run in and im on metz z4...squared off rear and on limit..... when i got on his is seemed wobbly as hell like it was pivoting in the middle......he said he couldnt get mine to turn.....i think hes were the better as i had noticed a lack to want to go into corners on mine....i assume this is cus the rear is so square...

hopefully tomoz or fri ill have some new rubber to see

ok..im changing my mind maybe....with yr 13,000 posts i take it you know what you are talking about....ive read you also reccomend conti atack......
i would get the z6's butthey seem to be at least £30 dearer per pair than the contis..

i have seen a pair of conti atacks delivered for £150 online.....i assume i can get them fitted for about £20-30 if i take the wheels in......

is this a good option???

cheers for yr advice so far....(still cant believe youve made 13,000 posts

Just got some Z6's for my K5 and can't believe the difference from the stock 220's. Might be a psychological thing but who cares - Whatever does the job right?
