Default fairing cracking

since fitting my R & G tailtidy i have noticed that the fairing on both sides are cracking although i have Not overtightened the tailtidy and have tryed to plastic weld the cracks and reinforced the inside of the fairings, after todays ride through the wolds the cracking on one side at the mo seems to be growing any thought on how to fix this or have i fitted this wrong

i take it you bike is a pointy? when i fitted mine the 2 plates you bolt to the subframe needed filing down a tad because the tail fairing was pressing on them when i tightened the tidy up, is this you problem? if you have a crack and there is still pressure on the crack it will continue to grow.

By fairing can I assume you mean the bikes own tail section? If so to stop the cracks from "growing" get an 1/8th part or 3mm drill bit and drill a hole right where the crack has stopped that will stop it going any further then when you weld it together it will stay together.

no its a curvy and yes its is the problem as you said and yes the pressure is still on it its the reson i went for a bike specific tail tidy so i thought that problem wouldnt happen than make one or bodge a cheap one. The fairing is bowing unnaturally. rear end was starting to look good to.

can i drill all the cracks as on the left side one seem to be spittling into 3
and the right is just opening up. I did think of cutting some of the fairing off round the tail tidy where the pressure is but i think that would water in

Yes by all means. Wherever the crack has spidered to, drill the tip of each point exactly at its end so the the final point of the crack is included in the hole you drill, this will stop them going any further and help relieve the stress when you weld them back up.
