Question on the temp

okay soo.. last week my batt was almost dead sooo i let it run for like a 1/2 or so... i went out to shut it off and the temp was ova 200. around 220 i think...i decided to ride it up and down the drive way a few times and it reached 180 so i decide to place it back in the garage.. this isn't normal is it. i thought it was soppost to stay around 100 or so..any help would be great thanks guys/ladies.

new rad time for you lol, then again it could be the fan... or a dodgy temp meter to be honest if it was two hundred + your bike would of seized or blown up or something, im sure the coolant would of boiled at that temp too

Check the scale - it sounds like you have swapped over to Fahrenheit when the battery died!

as others have said, sounds like you are on the Farenheight scale

using http://www.webmath.com/tconvert.html it tells me your 220°F is actuall 104°C. so no worries all is as it should have been

I, on the other hand, have a serious problem Sitting in traffic the othe day the temp went PAST 120 deg.C. Spoken to my dad, and we both reckon the temp gauge is dodgy (it sits at 110 mostly when moving). Anywho, gonna take it to his garage on saturday and use a laser thermometer and point it at various parts of the engine, see what reading that gives and how far out (if it is out) the gauge is...

Checked water level and sensor y'day - nothing wrong with either
