Default 180 rear, handling?

i know the whole 180 rear question has been asked loads of times and i know a bandit rear wheel with 180 tyre bolts straight over (i`ve just finished doing it) but nobody has said how it will affect the handling. Can anyone tell me what to expect. Cheers

What was the reason for changing over, seems a strange thing to do if you don't know what affect it'll have.

It'll generally slow the turning in (one of the reasons the old 748 turned in better than the 916), however from a cosmetic point of view, some like the larger rear rubber.

Cheers Mark.

good question so long story short. While riding home from box hill yesterday i got a puncture, it was a key, one of those ones for back door locks the big b*****d ones! so anyway due to not having any money but having a 600 bandit in the garage i thought sod it i`ll try it. Depending on how it handles and depending on when i get a job depends on weather i`ll go back to the standard tyre or not. Anyone know what the new BT021`s are like?

Na sorry, I don't know the guy myself and requested threw a friend, haven't heard anything back as of yet and wouldn't be surprised if I don't, can't really do anything more to help you out, but if I do I'll let you know.

Cheers Mark.

Hi I have the 1200 Bandit rear with a 180 section trye it has not affected the handling at all if anything it has improved it! ie a bigger foot print and more grip when cranked over!

I noticed in your reply that it is a 600 Bandit rear! That will not take a 180 section tyre saftly as it is 4.50in rim and you need a 5.50in rim to take a 180!!
