Bloody expensive policies too. Quoted me double what I'm paying. Shop around, don't just call the big names, there's a reason why they made so much money, and now they have huge overheads to cover.

Bennetts screwed me over too!!!! They are S***E!!! Last year I was away with the R.A.F. My wife moved house while I was away, into a better married quarter. I told them before I went to give my wife permission to change details. My wife rang them up to change the address and they said she couldnt do it.The policy expired while I was away and missed the last payment due to insufficient funds in my account. I then got back none the wiser to this as all the payment reminders were sent to my old house. I then rang them up to renew my policy and they said oh we see you are in arrears for £22 can you pay this first. Yeah no problem, I paid it and was then put through to get my next years quote. They THEN decided to tell me that my policy had been cancelled while I was awaydue to missing the payment..... 9 days before the end. I lose my years no claims over £22 being paid late through there mistake. Nobs! I will never use them again!

The thing is I've been with bennetts for about 6 years and they had come in cheeper than everyone else! Not again though! I need to insure my crosser for theft so I'll shop around.

I have been waiting for six weeks for a refund of £125 that Bennetts said they
would refund immediately. I have had every excuse in the book, have been told lie after lie. I asked the last customer service bloke what he would do if he was me and he said" if I had had the experience you have had I would never deal with Bennetts again for the rest of my life". Just imagine if you were to make a claim against them ! You would have no chance of getting satisfaction. SPREAD THE WORD BENNETTS ARE CRAP. |

I'm with Bennetts...GULP!....they were second cheapest out of 12 quotes....I have made a claim through them off a car driver....there were no probs.....I upgraded policies to a different bike...no probs....changed address....no probs....paying £189 fully comp including full RAC cover for new SV650....'bout £140 for the insurance bit....I thought that was good....cheapest was about £135 but RAC cover was a half price deal thingy?? As stated...no probs yet....GULP!
I wonder if this is going to be another Direct Line thing where the company digs in its heels and outbids and out advertises all the opposition then gets bought out by the big boys....share holders make a fortune, company bosses make a fortune, big finance owns another great chunk of the UK economy and everthing carries on as before. Its just power and money changing hands like some huge nationwide magic trick, now you see it....now you don't. We had it (£) and instead of spreading it around 40 different companies, Bennetts convinced us all to give it to them and now they have it (£) and the smaller companies don't. They can't compete anymore cos they have to put their premiums up to compensate for Bennetts taking all their business, so Bennetts or whoever takes them over get to offer the lowest premiums and therefore keep their market share...clever innit? Meanwhile you pay and get cover and claim and move on using bona fida insurance companies to do your bidding....Bennetts is just the middleman...the liaison....the broker. They qouted me double aswell.
I went through thebikeinsurer.co.uk my actual insurer is Aqoute the policy is by Highways. Seems a good policy and they are fairly easily contacted and have all english call centres. It has everything, legal protection, equipment cover, euro cover, commuting cover, fully comp..........and they were still than the basic TPF&T with bennets.
