Default MOT what do I need... A few questions ?

Oh dear, it's my Bikes First MOT tomorrow, so just had it out for a wash and then to check all lights, indicators, side lights, brake lights front lever and foot lever, adjusted and lubed the chain checked the oil levels (engine & brakes) checked brakes discs and pads and hoses, levers, throttle cables & clutch cables, wheel bearings & tires... head stocks, front and rear suspension, mirrors... and all instrument bulbs and switches and horn.

Is there anything that I forgotten ?

Do I need to take the V5 with me, if so what other documentation will I require?

and one last thing, much should I be paying for an MOT for a bike?

hopefully pass as we've got the run out on the 10/11/07...

Don't worry about baffles, a loud can is an essential safety feature.

Right, does your can have any nasty words, such as not for road use etc. Is your plate "legal", do you have a reflector, wheel alignment, pegs secure. Now for the silly. If you have a rear seat, do you have rear pegs. Otherwise put hump back on etc.

The MOT places like the V5 or previous MOT as it's easier to copy the VIN off it. But it is not necessary (as funnily enough you will often find the VIN written on the bike somewhere).
If you don't have the documents, then the MOT cert. may well have the 'year of first use' XXXXX'd out.

Don't worry about it, sounds like you've just checked the bike more than they will

Only purpose for a v5, is to provide an exact date if you are getting it MOTed in advance of its 3rd birthday. (You can do it upto 28 days before and get the new certificate post dated)

If I recall correctly, they need to check your bike has got a VIN number stamped. But how they can get to the headstock to read it is upto them

Depends how strict they are, my bike doesn't have one - it got through, they were far more concerned by the brakes than petty things like that. But it might be better to not have one than it not working.
