in the near future I'm hoping to buy an sv. I've been looking at getting crash damaged ones (just category c write offs that have cracked fairing etc) because I could get more for my money. my question is, how is the fairing attached to the bike? would I be able to remove the busted up fairing, mount the headlight and clocks seperately and keep it as a naked bike? any help much appreciated.

well there are right many thread around here about converting to a nekid bike. the gauges and stuff like that attach to upper triple tree on the nekid version and on the s there is a fairing stay bracket that they are on. I would buy one and just look for a faring on fleabay personally but it up to you.

on the faired pointys the lights mount onto the inside of the fairing then the fairing screws into the frame mounts, meaning you can use the fairing without lights but not vice versa..
as for doing a naked conversion, the search should bring up some good 'how to's'... HTH |
