The cylinder fins gave it away. Red herring was the Brembo brakes, made me think it was something Italian.
All I'm waiting for is confirmation of my correct answer :rave:
Dave20046
08-02-09, 05:09 PM
the confirmation is on the link above. I thought the fins were part of the radiator or something.

I thought they had to have loads of extra cooling fins just the keep it running cool, before they changed it to water cooled, with a seperate radiator.
Not 100% on this

I think you're probably right, I just meant I couldn;t tell from the phot that was a cylinder - thought it was a rad.

Twas why they had so many problems. Great engine, generates a lot of heat.

The Last Norton?
Norton’s last production run of motorcycles was to make 100 rotary engined "classics" in 1988. They had previously made them for police work in Great Britain. This is serial number 100 – the "last" Norton. It has a very inefficient two-rotor engine, hence all the cooling fans. The bike is unused.

Hmmm controls seem way off the top of the forks and a nice bit of extra length on the front hose hinting at a bit of off-road capability , Cast wheels make it seem like it`s a wannabe rather than a full on one ?
Or is this just some weird 80`s styling thing ?

If it is a Van Veen then it won`t be from the 80`s , it`ll be late 70`s . Weren`t they the ones with great big Wan-kel engines in them ?
Produced 1978 to 1980 and yes a great big Wankel :)

Yes, you are correct, late 70's, not the 80's. Old age on my part distorting the time.

The fischer could so easily look better if it wasnt for that high rise exhaust, altho the bike is probably more eye candy than go.....

Been watching this classic thread for a while if I get them its always to late.
I used to ride with a guy that had one. Lovely bike wouldn't mind one. Got it from the torque arm and the uncomfortable looking seat.
Give me a little while and I'll get one up...
