Ride-out 7th March 2009 - Severn Circuit

[Mogs]

Date: 7th March 2009.
Distance: 110 miles.
Departure 11:00am prompt.
Return 3:30pm approx.

Route

Starting from Severn View Services (Aust) through
Alveston to the A38 then staying on the A38 NE through
Gloucester and Tewkewsbury to skirt south of
Worcester on the A449 South West through
Malvern (lunchstop, McDonalds), Ledbury to
Ross-on-Wye then B roads through
Lydbrook, Coleford, St Briavels, Tidenham to
finish at The Old Ferry Public House, Beachley.

Note: Crossing the Severn Bridge is free for motorcycles.
This ride will be at a steady pace with plenty of stops/breaks,
we will be using the Drop-off system.
All Welcome, regardless of experience.

I maybe able to come up for this Mogs as you have come down to ours and its only fair to return the compliment.Any idea of a start time? as Aust is about 2 hrs from here sticking to near speed limits due to the cameras on M4.

I'd love to come on this. I really didn't do anything on the bike last year except 2 trips to work on it :smt019 so swore after my health scare I 'd make more time for myself this year. Ok, it depends on the what the doctor and consultant says on March 5th if I'm allowed to carry on as normal, and when work will want me back so may have to work but if I can I will be there. Though I will catch you at Glos or Tewksbury probably as I'll be coming home up the A38 anyway after we finish.

Ride-outs organised over the internet very often involve individuals not knowing each others real names etc. We've done this before, I suggest that we print on a sheet of paper our personal info. name, address, home contact, Insurance company details. No need to hand it to anyone just have it with you, put it in the map pouch of your tank bag (or somewhere equally obvious).

i may have to bail on this. got jumped in cardiff at start of new january and knee has been giving me grief since then. saw a physio friday and got told that 3 of my ligaments are screwed (lucky i have kept off the bike just in case), got to sort a MRI and talk with GP so will know tomorrow if i am ok to ride at all. fooking typical. dam chavs only got slaps on the wrist and community service stuff. if doc says its ok to have my knee bent for longer periods then i will def make it.

My physio used to say to me, strap it up it'll be fine. This was true as i lasted another few months playing rugby. Unfortantly i have now had one op on my shoulder and another one in march. (Athough i think the damage was already done)

Drop-off system is brilliant when done properly but just be aware that being a marker does not make anyone big, clever or special. By all means if you want to do a lot of marking overtake and get to the front but do it safely and sensibly, I've been on a few rideouts in my time where the markers have got some kind of self-importance attitude and have pulled some rather silly and dangerous manouevers (sp?) to get back to the front :toss:

pretty much feel like a pratt , but gid was very understanding .and i aprishiate it.

been out with my dad ect thou, i do normal not ride stupidy, but you learn, as they say no ones a perfect rider you learn by your mistake , just glad no one got hurt. thew
