Yep I dropped mine the afternoon after my test! In a highstreet full of people at a mini roundabout! Edit- and i had to slide myself from under it!
It it embarrasing! And i wanted to throw my helmet across the street as well! But it was fine! I didn't cry!
Don't worry about dropping it and try not to over think things!
I forgot to ask when congratulating....... do you like the SV?
i love the sv!!! well at least i would be giving it a go even if i did fall off, bet half the people watching couldn't even ride a moped!!!

Everyone drops it at some point. Don't worry though, sods law states there will be lots of people there.
Yep they do.
I fell off my 125 on ice.
I've dropped Liz's SV 3 times
When we went Vipers a while ago I nearly dropped my GSXR when I messed up a U turn.
Sh*te happens, stop worrying about it, you've passed your test, that means the examiner who knows about this stuff thinks you're OK to ride, so get out there and ride.
Liz I think is shorter than you are and she copes OK with the SV and her Ducati. So no reason why you cant cope either.

Chriiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiis I want to play on bike! Now!
pack it in Kate you are tiny and have nothing to worry about there
+1 I think the majority of this thread has avidly made that point :p
I would add some sort of perverted comment, but I'll leave it to your imagination.
Cleaning it though? Whassat all about? Filth is good.
Any more questions or can we get back to filth, innuendo and depravity?
Can't tell you're in a long distance relationship at all LOL :smt008

Indeed congratulations, I wasn’t aware you’d past your test, as to the riding thing, also well done, the SV isn’t the easiest bike to U turn so most impressed, I’d guess at present you feel less than secure at slow speed coming to a stop and such, that’s because a degree of speed adds to the feel of stability; which obviously isn’t there when slow.
If you’re out playing again try a number of start/stop maneuvers not going over 10 mph between them, also slow right down and aim at a spot you’re going to stop at, cover the last 10 feet to it as slow as balance and clutch control will allow, as you improve slow down for that 10 feet even more (if at anytime you feel the bike becoming to unbalanced, just give it a little throttle and go past, then try again), get used to the feeling of the bike at slow speeds and using the clutch to control limited power to the rear wheel, once you feel happy with that, you’ll not have to worry so much about the bike controlling you (as in it’s weight).
Use you inner thighs to hold onto the bike around the tank, this will not only help you sit straight, but aid control, take the weight threw your lower back rather than your arms, you should just rest your palms on the grips and fold your fingers around them, there is no need to actually grip on tight, as if both hands are held on the handle bars (not gripping here), just stopping either going backwards does the same job, and I know it's easier said than done, but try to relax.
Oh and as to the other question people seem to be commenting on….. apart from not being leather clad I see no problem.
Cheers Mark.

I was gonna mention that but thought it might sound better from someone who actually rides lol! I don't think I could get on a bike like that without leathers until I was confident enough but whatever feels ok for that person I guess :)

i did notice, but was worried that comment might offend, but as you've pointed it out...... ;)
Any advise as to how not to feel like im going to loose balance when looking around.
look where you're going. one of the first things i was taught was to look up at where i was going, not where the front wheel was. immediately my balance improved!! (apologies if this has already been said or seems if i'm being a twit!)

Yeah I was told the exact same thing by my CBT instructor (before I got annoyed with him), makes a huge difference. However I think Kate might have the hang of that seeing as she's been riding her 125 a fair bit I believe ;-)

Common, yes, but not the correct use of English! :D
Nor is the use of an exclamation mark at the end of a statement, rather than after an exclamation ;)
I don't please enlighten me
Nylon was jointly developed by two teams, one in New York, the other in London. They took the NY from New York, and the LON from London, then put them together to make the name "NYLON"
CSM is a military abbreviation, standing for Company Sergeant Major, one of the higher ranking NCOs (non-commissioned officers)
