Is that all the way across? I heard scottish roads are actually good so might get away with it but it's up to how you feel as tyres are so important.

Actually it's the other way round Dave I think. The road surface can be very aggressive in places, plus the chance to use acceleration quite a bit might well shred your tyres quicker.

all the chargers are gona killl me though - tomtom charger, headset charger, phone charger! ahh
sandwich bags are a good idea though thanks :D

Can you not get a multicharger with various plugs to save lugging loads of them with you GP? Also they're not really sandwich bags but re-sealable foodbags. Come in a variety of sizes in packs of 25 or 10 from Tesco or similar. Useful for keeping phones, cameras, documents dry. Even if they've never got wet before they may well over this weekend:)

Also think about how you'd get the bike home in the event of a mechanical (or worse) breakdown and please carry details with you together with ICE numbers.

Little known fact is that it was actually the midgie horde that turned the tide at bannockburn, not Mr Wallaces tactics.
Sir William to you, Mr Ginger. Back of the class for history.

Really wish I was coming
+1. Alas. :(

Sir William to you, Mr Ginger. Back of the class for history.

My memory is bad but not that bad, he lost his family title of sir when he was declared an outlaw in 1292 after killing an englishman, so was not a "sir" at stirling bridge in 97, also why he ruled under the name of John Balliol as a criminal could not govern.

I think but may be completely wrong:smt102

Sally
16-06-09, 09:39 PM
He gained the title of 'Sir' or 'Knight' after Stirling bridge, and was appointed 'The Guardian of Scotland'.
He lost at Bannockburn, and had his titles stripped of him.

Not 100% sure about the last bit, but the majority is right.

Feel quite geeky :)

Now you're making me think. was his knighting after sb not only scottish and never recognised by the "crown" His father was a lord (although minor) thus under crown law at that time would he not have been "master wallace" until 16 and then automatically become sir under the peerage laws, or was it only the oldest brother, who was killed 91 i think in which case i'm confusing myself:cyclops::smt039

He reconigised John Balliol as the rightful King of Scotland.
He was the 2nd son of a Landowner, not a Lord I think.
I couldn't tell you years etc.

All I can say is he isn't what hes cracked up to be.
He only won at SB, and lost everyother time after that.
Moray was(maybe) the brains behind SB, Wallace just picked up the title after Moray died soon after SB.

My problem is every bike so far that I've phoned up about has been sold, normally that day!

There's one about an hour down the road which tickles my fancy, if I can just get the time to go & try it I think I might have it...

They'd fit perfect but your alright mate, I've got some emergency overtrousers I don't wanna have to resort to. I could just do with some decent textiles (mine leak) so that I have some allrounders I can wear all weekend rather than bringing my leathers and having to swap jackets and put on over trousers.

It's built well * just everythings so compact and tight together it's hard to work on and being covered in plastic doesn't help either.
