The date for bids passed on 15th Dec. Only one bid was recieved and it was of very high quality. You can view the bid here.

PDF http://www.sv650.org/sv_rideout2013/AR2013%20proposal.pdf (http://www.sv650.org/ar2013prop/AR2013%20proposal.pdf)

Well done to the bidding team, I can see a lot of time an thought has gone into the proposal. So they can now get on with the nitty gritty of organisiing and the rest of us can make a note in our diaries.

There's Google with loads of Hotels listed. Search for either Petersfield or Alton for key local towns. Travel lodges locally, loads of B&Bs. Remember it'll be mid-summer weekend so at least the rain should be warm for those camping.

This looks epic!

The A32 and A272 are great roads, however are also heavily policed, especially on hot sunny weekends! There are however lots of other alternatives (back road from Petersfield southeast towards Chichester?) that are quieter and better IMHO.

My mum runs a B&B in Hamble, about 20 mins away. There are two double/twin rooms - if you want more details please PM me.

Spank86
17-12-12, 09:11 PM
The reason we decided to camp in the centre of the police hotspot is its surrounded by good roads and it means we can ride away from the police to the great roads on the outskirts while they are clustered round our camp area.

And I believe that road is being surveyed for suitability by our dedicated team, we've sent them out 10 times but apparently they aren't sure and need to check again.

Marwell zoo is highly recommended, New Forest is about 30 mins away, Historic Dockyard at Portsmouth, Jane Austen's house, Winchester Cathedral, South Downs for walking.

What does she like ;-)

Spank86
17-12-12, 09:17 PM
From where we are you've got historic Winchester, Portsmouth museums and docks, Basingstoke for shopping, Petersfield for whatever the point of Petersfield is...

Not to mention anything else in the countryside like manor farm country park in Botley.

Spank86
17-12-12, 09:20 PM
Nope, that's not too bad, it's just down in the new forest.

A bit further than the other suggestions but we could give you a route that would probably be under an hour.
