You know how I say I love the variety in my job? Well this was fun today. A large bald eagle in for some PR related to the wine people Wolf Blass. I wasn't the photographer but got to take a few photos anyway.

My current client is a logistics company so pallet trucks, reach trucks counterbalance trucks, fork extensions so they can safely lift euro-sized pallets instead of UK ones... so many of them.
I'm amazed such a thing exists and that people go there! What made you visit? It's part of the midland train museum. We're currently staying nearby.

Awesome!
Just so you know, you are literally living my dream.
If I could retire and move to the UK that's exactly what I'd be doing nearly every weekend.

It's well worth a visit, even though it's not big, there's plenty of stuff inside it.
If you're as old as me and can remember the smell of tobacco, leather and general fuel diesel, plus people from the buses exhibited there, it bought back nostalgic memories of traveling on corporation transport in the 70s and 80s

I've not been in there for a long time, not since the inlaws lived up that way at Grassmore about 15 years ago. They used to have loads of bikes in even back then.

I've never tried growing Passiflora - must give it a go one year. Nigella, as in the second pic, however I have and it self-seeds everywhere! Nice wafty foliage mind.
We did have a Passiflora at the flat and had it trained on the fence. Never did well. This one will be growing up a soon to be dead tree to fill in a gap in the rear of the garden.

That's a great description of Gt Yarmouth, its the east coast version of Blackpool, which is where I think you are, or Morcambe :-)
Yep Blackpool. In the winter gardens to be exact. I wouldn't normally venture there but my sister bought us afternoon tea in the ballroom. Which was actually quite nice. Lots of older folk (I'm still 25) dancing to the tunes from a Wurlitzer organ. And the organ did disappear into the stage at the end.

Yes, this is nearby to a site where they're laying a cable, so the poppies are covering a huge part of the site, which makes it nice to ride past, despite the roads being covered in sand & gravel

There's a Mustang I pass on my way to/from work. Plate is 1968 Ford, I can't tell if it's a GT500 but it's that sort of colour. They park it on a side road so I'm thinking it must be a more modern replica.
Looks nice though.

Must be a Penny Farthing American version.
It's ridden in the opposite direction, the saddle is in the wrong location and on azz backwards as are the bars, and the wrong wheel turns.
Possibly a Trump limited edition model.

Rather than pedals turning the front wheel, it looks like the pedals are pushed down which moves the horizontal bars also down. This pulls the diagonal ( green ) pull rod. This connects to what looks like a brake lever below & to rear of saddle which looks like it rotates in the rear forks. Another pull/?push? rod (just above the rear fork) where all drive is lost in the mists of time. At this point it's probably best to get off and push, a bit like an SV pointy?

Nice lightning pic K - I managed to sleep through it all so maybe next time.
My pic/achievement of the day is replacing the flush diaphragm thingy in the loo. The old one (at the top - you probably guessed) is paper thin and almost brittle now but that has lasted fairly well at 17 years. The twin of the bottom one is now installed and the flush is back to normal now instead of crank, crank, crank, swear, crank, crank, ah there it goes. Thankfully.

Sony 6000 is nice too.

The Panasonic range will all be micro four thirds whereas the Sony range should be APSC so better for low light. The older Sony range were the NEX models but if you can get an Alpha for a good price.

I'm toying with the idea of going to MFT as I just don't use my DSLR enough because of the weight. Trouble is I know I'll be wishing I had moved to mirrorless FF all the time so I'll probably go for an EOS RP at some point with the 24-105 RF L. Trouble is that's just as heavy as my 700D with 18-135. Fuji XT-30 maybe. Oh I just don't know!

Very tactile to use.
My d700 is still my go to camera for serious work but a second quality camera in a smaller size is on my wish list.
The canon m50 is also worth considering as it would take my efs lenses with an adapter.

I really like the camera; it's compact, fast focussing and has a great range of lenses if you include the Lumixes.

Not taken today, but I found it again today. A photo I took on the first ever trip out I had on my SV a few years ago. There's definitely things I miss about it since I sold it. The Tracer is great and I love riding it but I don't feel any connection with it yet in the way that I did with my SV. I hope the guy who bought it off me is appreciating it.

I can empathise with that.

I was having a look at one of these (MkIII) the other day in Jessops in High Wycombe. Excellent VFM but they are aimed at entry level users and I worry I'd find it a bit lacking as a consequence. It's size really does appeal though as it's very nicely proportioned and something I'd take out and about a lot more. Plus it looks nice. Will probably wait until the Photography Show in March and try some in the hand before deciding.

Very smooth and comfortable but that makes it a little sterile. I think a good bike needs some endearing flaw. Having said that I'm not sure what flaw the SV has. I do miss that punch out of corners though.

About the same as 6 3/4 gallons of fuel.
Remember them cos I'm even older! ;)

I don't remember those but I do remember getting tokens with Esso fuel that you could save up to get a set of glasses. I saved mine up and got the glasses, which all cracked and broke within a week.

Well, there's six kilos removed from the Tracer!

Yep. The stand itself was easy... the springs however!
Came across this Norvin yesterday. I think Ogri was out for a ride.
Ps. I don't think that's a norton frame, not sure what it is.

The only photo from yesterday’s journey to Cornwall after work. Ironic that it’s Bridgewater and the only point in the journey where there wasn’t huge amounts of water falling from the sky! A gruelling 4 hour journey. Ended up on Motorway for a bit to try to just power through the storms. Came away from it with very mixed feelings about the Tracers suitability for speed with its upright position and smaller screen I’ve fitted to avoid the ridiculous buffeting of the original. I was essentially a huge sail on top of the bike at anything 60mph plus. Very tiring and had ringing ears into the night despite wearing ear plugs. Hoping for better weather on the return trip tomorrow.
