Ah yes! I hadn't noticed that till you pointed it out Mav. I like the continuity it gives from front to back.

Out running with friends. One of my happy places.
What was going on to the left of the photo that had the dogs captivated?
There were a few other visitors to the viewpoint and they had two or three small, bouncy dogs with them.
Dropped in to the Italian owners club at Bridgnorth today. Lots of nice cars, bikes and scooters. Very crowded though.
These images are off my phone, better to come off my camera.

The obruT sticker is fantastic - saw one once back in the day out on the road and was fascinated that it would be printed backwards like that.
Oddly, as I grew up not ten miles from this place, I never realised there was a museum there. Will go for a look next time I head up to visit my folks if I can.
I suppose you want the people looking in the mirror to know you have a Turbo! We've been planning on going for a while and decided to make the trip.

VFR has been a bit lumpy starting and then idling really high for a minute or two. Took the airbox off to lubricate the linkage on the starter valves and wax idle just in case that was causing the problem. Got a bit carried away... as I'd gone to the trouble of getting the air box off anyway. Synced the starter valves and did snorkel, pair valve and flapper mods while I was at it.

https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/49056860481_a7437bc563_c.jpgMy VFR can be a bit lumpy in cold weather. When i blocked the pair plumbing it made it even worse and wouldn't tick over at all unless i held the throttle open for a minute or so. So i reverted the mod. I have removed the airbox snorkel and deactivated the flapper though.

Similar happening with mine now. Although it was doing it before any mods too sometimes. Now it's consistently neededing revs to keep it idling for the first 20 seconds or so. I'm going to revert the Pair mod and see if it helps. Also need to get the F1 light off again as it's showing the map sensor error from when it was disconnected for syncing.

Its a pity there's no barriers or barbed wire fences to give it some authenticity, although I suppose as a symbol of bad times, maybe they don't want to remember it as a barrier to freedom?

A delightful evening spent in the garage checking spark plug gaps on the VFR. All three that I checked were perfect spec, about 0.85mm gap, but slightly sooty. Dry carbon build ups though so cleaned them up and refitted. Glad to find the original Iridiums in there and not something else bodged in there as can be the case when previous owners change plugs.
I've saved the fourth one to check another day... not sure I could stand any more excitment this evening :-)

Chris Guy's trashed VF750
I nearly didn't survive this accident, as he crahed before our viewing point, anf only by doing a backward roll, did I avoid going to St Peters Gate

That's just because you're too excited for Christmas! Only 22 more sleeps Chris! Unless you really are finding it hard to sleep. Then it might only be 3 or 4. :D

Fab photos Adam. Gone some way towards cheering me up a bit.
Anyone heard from LPH recently? I dropped her a PM a week or so back but had no reply. She's was a regular poster on this thread.

Saw her at work the other day, think she's been away on holiday.....
Visited the RAF Museum at Hendon yesterday before making our way down to Wembley Arena to see Danny Elfman in concert doing the Nightmare Before Christmas. Was a great day out. Ssw some aircraft that I haven't seen in the flesh, mostly the Stuka, BF110, Bristol Beaufighter and the Hawker (Can't remember if a Typhoon or a Tempest) I'm still really surprised that the UK doesn't have an airworthy Mosquito either. The battery in my Panasonic compact died halfway round so had to rely on my phone. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20191206/e76fffd2a8251f01fc1bfb55fdaf80a5.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20191206/bffcdc496bae963cda54131f15e593fe.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20191206/2e3312bc591c9965296e74e574be12fa.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20191206/488c57d4fb2d1916b9d62c39e3e9c165.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20191206/b1cbb7f04ca204b9596f5d230fa708e4.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20191206/c86c912971aa6d8eb1470378e70a3540.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20191206/6601c27f15f7b15515cb0c1670df2970.jpg

I do love an aircraft museum. Cosford near me is good. Have you been to Duxford?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk
Many a time, but they don't have the same mix of aircraft as the RAF Museum. Cosford is supposed to be good too. It was free entry but you have to pay for parking, which is between £4.50 and £9.

Ooh adds Hendon to the list, as well as Duxford
There's the Mosquito museum not far from Duxford, although I agree I don't know why we don't have an airworthy one. Think the last one crashed and was destroyed.
The WW1 exhibition was good too, in part of the old factory. Apparently these aren't replicas and are the real deal. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20191206/f4b6c5bb65ddba4b7253f4145ef7fbd3.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20191206/aeb14534613e519af29a4fc6d912c4f5.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20191206/68fce17d3a60317d97216f71e6bd6b40.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20191206/4b149931df837766671e80d21bf7ba5c.jpg

Hendon is already on my list of places to go when I get time so this really whet's my appetite. Been past the exit for Cosford on the M54 heading up to see father-in-law lots of time as well but never had chance to head in.
The De-Havilland museum a few miles south of Hatfield is also worth a visit too if you want to see some Mosquito's.

Thinking about changing my main camera next year for something lighter with a much better focusing system. Hopefully it will encourage me to actually use it a bit more! A good excuse to visit the photography show in March and try the ones on my shortlist I've not had chance to get my mits on. When I went two years ago thy had some quite good deals on so you never know.
What are you thinking of getting? I've dipped my toe into mirrorless and they seem pretty decent as well ss being small and light. Think you can get them in full frame too.

Have decided to go mirrorless but not full frame as I'd want the better lenses and it would defeat the objective of getting something smaller/lighter. So it's APS-C or micro four-thirds. The EOS-M lens lineup is dire so Canon is out of the running, Nikon does not have many relevant Z-mount lenses so the Z50 is out too. I've narrowed it down to the Sony A6600, the Fuji X-T3 or the Olympus E-M5 mk3. So far I've not found any shops with an M5 on display so I don't know how it feels in the hand so I'll keep an open mind for now.

Might have for the m5 but cant recall. Olympus had some offers too with a free 25mm prime on certain models.
I'm quite partial to them myself as i like dial controls rather than buttons.
