I really need to start using my camera again :( I've been on a bit of a downer of late, so haven't bothered with much, other than my X5. I didn't have any drink over New Year either, but I did buy a new (to me) car. The wife has finally got a job after returning from our trip in September, so needed some new transport. We found this little gem on Gumtree, 1 former keeper, 10000 miles from new with full service history at a bargain price (about £800 less than most we'd seen).

Actually I spend a lot less time cleaning than you might think.
Unless it rains (then it gets a wash) I usually spend about 15 to 20 mins. cleaning. it post ride.
I learned long ago ' Its a lot easier to keep one clean than it is to get one clean'.

Excursion back from my parents in Malvern to Bristol.. took the sceneic route, via the Brecons. Bit of a light touring setup shakedown too. Worked very well (Kriega US30 and Givi 15L tankbag) and handled fine on the corners too. Not that I was pushing it as the roads were damp and slippy. But I'm amazed I've not been out there for years. It really is breathtaking in parts!

Taken on my phone last night as I went to get the bus. The baroque by candlelight there is always wonderful.

I had been to the Bodyworlds exhibition. Excellent and informative. Though standing in front of models of a plasticised penis and vagina with a male colleague did feel a bit odd and sadly you aren't allowed to take photos.

I baked a lemon and orange orange iced drizzle cake for Stephen Fry as he was at Lord's with Sky Sports. He described it as 'A triumph!' and asked if I would marry him*. He also said he shouldn't have a second slice but then picked up and ate every crumb from the plates.

*He did point out that he is already married to a man but said polygamy is fine if I will bake.

+ One from the trip back from Cornwall, across Dartmoor. The ponies were very pushy about trying to get my sandwiches. I got quite worried at one point when they all surrounded me and started nudging me with their heads! One even tried to have a nibble of the SV exhaust.. which was still fairly warm.

Finally got to drive a Ferrari today. This is for my daughter's wedding tomorrow. No horse and carriage for her.

Lots of things lurking in the pond. Was trying to snap a newt but they move a bit quick and stay under the water. I don't have a polariser for the long lens so if they're not breaking the surface, as Mr Frog is doing here, they don't look great. I'll keep trying though.

Sometimes the best days are the ones you don't really plan. Met a mate in Brighton.

We managed to fit in the Devil's Dyke for a walk, a pub lunch and beer festival, drag queen races, sunbathing on the beach, ice cream and an unexpected drive through central London as the sun set. Splendid.

I have lots from yesterday. The Munchkin treated me to a photo day at the British Wildlife Centre in Surrey which was epic! One of the keepers took us into some of the enclosures so we could get close ups without bars/netting getting in the way. The foxes and otters were so tame and unphased they would brush past us. If you get the chance I'd thoroughly recommend one of their days - they do an owl day too if mammals are not your bag. The red sqiggles were a sod to catch. Sometimes they will pose down near the walkways but for us they stayed way up high.

As you can see a lot of my shots are a bit soft as my 70-300 is the cheap version but considering it's all pretty much entry level kit I was pretty happy with at least a few of my shots on each of the animals we covered.
