It were bloomin marvellous!
I agree! Thanks so much to John, Ed, The Markers and everyone else who was there. It was my first AR and it was top fun. I will leave the squished flies on the front of my bike for a while as souvenirs. (It's not that I can't be bothered cleaning it or anything).
Looking forward to AR07.

Now it's over :) Just home, 850 miles later. Predictably, after doing about 200 motorway miles floating around 100, I got pulled by Lothian and Borders about 100 yards from my house doing 36 in a 30  But no harm done, they let me off with a long hard glare.
I need to sort out my pics, and find me a suggestions thread, but what belongs here...
HUGE thanks to everyoen involved in planning, organising and marshalling the rideout, it was absolutely blinding, and great to be able to take a session off from even bothering to try and keep up, knowing you'll not be left behind. I was never convinced by the marshalling systems till saturday. Extra marks to John and Ed- ensuring I wasn't last ;)
Also thanks to Fizzwheel for being gentle with me on my first time so that Debs could have a go... Still hated it, but if he'd been a less good and considerate pilot I would have hated it, and fallen off the back :) Next time I'm getting a taxi.
And to Debs, for not crashing my baby. I thought I'd be nervous watching it go but luckily, I was kept far too busy  And to everyone else who asked for a go- **** off!
And of course, to everyone else there... Brilliant weekend, loved it, we should do it more often (and for that, another thread...) but especially to the people with the mod cons- Quiff and Sid Squid for the seats and the roof, and Tara and Falc for the barbeques and the food. Andf compliments to the chefs :)
Good weekend doing the things I like riding, drinking, eating, camping and taking to some really nice people.
Good news is that I'm doing it again his weekend off to a local bike rally in Burton on trent.
Can I suggest a competition for next year the loudess shirt competition.
This years winner.

Hey Northy, glad to hear you made it home OK. And that little incident was not a bad end to a great weekend.
I nominate Northwind for Most Round-Trip Miles for AR06.
Any other contenders?

Grant (Blue Flame) had further there and back... I cheated ;) Would have done more but the weather in the mountains was rank, the roads were fine but the visibility was rubbish, so after the Horseshoe Pass (which was rubbish in the wet- well, fine going up, but once I realised how far I'd fall if I went off the edge I rode back like a big girl's blouse) and went back south to where it was sunny. Rather good :)

Changing the subject and a bit boring...but from topping up fuel at the BP garage on Saturday on the way to the start of the rideout to topping up at same garage on the way home Sunday I only used £8.90 of petrol add to that a couple of coffees and a tray of chips what a bargain for such a top day out !! :D

Yep similar here, fuel light didn't come on until I hit 156miles. I usually struggle to get 130 on a tank.
John
Abt 115 before it came on for me, but the big dent in the side of the tank may contribute to that, not sure though as it could also be the sections of flat out riding my bike was doing.

Similar......fuel light came on today after filling up for the ride home on Saturday. Somewhere around the 160 mile mark for me. Not bad for a Hornet

TSM, your tank's only about 10 litres I think, size of that dent ;) I reckon I was getting an average 140 miles to the solid light, that's about 15 litres, so over the weekend... £90 on petrol? That's not so bad. £18 for the camping, about 1/12 of a set of Roadtecs and 1/4 of a minor service, plus food, beer etc. Cheap at twice the price!
dirtydog
13-07-06, 05:52 PM
we used about £30 of petrol on the way up as we were gunning it a bit and doing 3 figure speeds for a lot of it 8) 8)
and probably a bit less on the way back
with the food, beer and camping probably cost us about £150 ish for the weekend and it was worth every penny

Then there was the drink, campsite, petrol and food.

the weekend cost me....
160 for a nail... (new set of tyres)
100 for the wife while I was away...
120 for me to spend on food, beer, fuel... and a shock from TSM.
So 380 quid spent.
