My bike will do 60 in 1st ;)

Mine does that mate, your's will do more surely...

as long as it doesn't drift too far off topic

SO.... What causes viscosity?

Viscosity in magma is a result of a number of factors. Viscosity is mainly dependant upon the degree of polymerization within the magma this gives rise to the magma having a structure. The higher the polymerization.....

valleyboy
16-05-06, 12:06 PM
yesit will domore than that in 1st.. about 70 ish to the rev limiter...

at the moment, its getting to 45 before the stutter kicks in.. which reminds me.. need to price up that stick coil....

Mogs

Lemmings

Valleyboy can ride his bike very well,
he may even be able to read a map,
but it's a sure thing that he can't ride a bike and read a map.

If everything should fail, then...

Take the A470 to Junction 32, M4

Head east on M4 and exit at Junction 28

Bear left thru filter lane taking first left, signposted Caerphilly for half mile

At roundabout take the second exit, signposted Caerphilly for 20 yds

turn left into layby (Bassaleg High School Bus Stop)

If we aren't there and it's after 10.10, we've moved on to Aust (Severn View). Meet us there.

p.s.

don't forget to take the M48 over the old bridge.

This thread has rambled so much I though it WAS on-topic. In actual fact I imagined that 'viscosity' might have been the latest suggested cause of the problems with VBs bike

valleyboy
16-05-06, 09:46 PM
I have another theory as to what the problem is....

It almost cost me £85 just to experiment to find out.. but teh part will need replacing anyway.. and as I buy plenty of stuff off my local garage, I got a 20% discount..

not viscosity.. but a stick coil not.. ermm.. well.. sticking to the spark plug...

ahh well... will find out when that part arrives next week...

p.s. Ive already changed the oil twice to find out if it was viscosity related ;)

Cool thanks for the welcome, Luckily I had the missus to talk to and food to eat so I wasn't that bothered that you didn't all come running out when I arrived!! :-)

Unfortunately my days of riding in torrential rain are gone so if its ****ing down I will be in the pub or summit.

Anyways, nice to meet a few more people hope to see yous Thursday and/or Saturday.

Everything crossed for some sun!

Myself and Rich are ex SV owners.. I traded in for my Kwak... and I just love the induction noise when you open the throttle
plus my SV had been tarmac surfing...

Stretchie on the otherhand... he was lonely, and had no friends.. so we have taken him in under our wing...

Better - Maybe in your opinion. My old kwak timing chain used to clatter like a T***

My Sv is silent in comparison.

valleyboy
17-05-06, 09:05 PM
funny you say that...

Its rattling for Britain at the moment, but the mechanics have said its not the camchain, the noise is coming from the wrong place...

My SV's camchain was noisy as hell as well...

but at least on the Kwak, after about 3 - 4 K rpm, the induction noise takes over... and at 16 K rpm... all I can hear is the engine making an effing loud noise as Im trying to hold on and stay in a straight line...

I think we might have wind as well..........remind me not to ride behind you after all those burgers.

Actually, I'm quite optimistic on the weather front. It's been so changeable lately that even predicting the next 24 hours is difficult.

You seem somewhat preoccupied by the weather, old chap. See the links below where you can get the latest "fix":

Cardiff (http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/24hr.shtml?world=0004)
Brecon (http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/24hr.shtml?id=2463)

Mass, were you going towards the severn bridge at about 6pm ish yesterday ? black / smoked double bubble screen?

I was on a Green Ninja going towards Bristol... did nod my head.. only just realised it may have been you!

Are you challenging Jabba for the title of "most Burgers consumed on a single ride out"

We may push on a wee bit past Storey Arms to use the lower layby, it's a bit more sheltered and has the luxury of Public Conveniences, we can't have anyone p**sing in the wind, the risk of blow-back is too great.

I'm not sure that there is always a burger van there tho'

No its the old bridge. The services is actually called "Severn View Services"

I'm sure Dr Rich posted directions somewhere in this thread.

fizzwheel
19-05-06, 07:16 PM
Yep thought so here you go

Aust Services is now called Severn View Services and is at the english end of the OLD severn bridge, accessed via the M48 which leads off of the M4 signed Chepstow.

Coming from west you can also leave the M5 at Avonmouth, go through Avonmouth itself (enjoying the apocalyptic scenary) and follow signs for Aust that way, coming out right at the M48 rounadbout where Severn View /Aust Services are.

Coming from Cribbs you can take the B road under the Cribbs/M5 junction rounadbout towards Pilning and then Aust. Again you avoid some motorway that way.

Hi All,

Just popping in to say hello to everyone after a really good rideout yesterday. Great roads & scenery, the weather mostly held off, and my only injury was from falling over in the Aust services car park. :)

Well, thats gotta be a first.. a sizeable rideout without any rain.. it doesnt do that much!

Barstewards.. It rained HEAVILY on Friday on my way to Welshpool, crossing the bridge about 16:30 was a nightmare, I have never been battered or that scared on that bridge before, waaay worse than when I've been over with some of you.. You remember the day Dr Rich? 45 degree leaning just to go in a straight line? Well this was raining that hard visibility was terrible just as bad as a thick fog. I was cacking it :(

My rideout had 43 bikes there. Saturday morning was chucking it down too but we still 'made progress' through the north Wales roads. It was great

got to do 1000 sheep road and the Rhigos unhindered ohh.. stretchie, you would have liked that part..

Fantastic, I'm gutted I missed some of that, it was for a good reason though  . Seen the pictures, looks like you guys had a great day out. Well done

My lack of a second gear didn't make a difference

If you want have a look at some of our pics click ME (http://www.2-wheels.org/forum/index.php/topic,1061.0.html), El Saxo was there, he had a little incident with a big van/truck AND an oncoming car.... AT THE SAME TIME!?!?!

going round corners like a mad man on 1000 sheep road.. and I also chased down an Impreza who thought he could out accelerate me off a roundabout on the the way up to Rhigos mountain

part for my bike arrives this week.. so hopefully bike will be all fixed for weekend then.. not that it needs that much fixing now... Remus is on.. ask Mogs and .Co what it sounds like when I passed them

The traffic for the old severn bridge was rather heavy.. so the kind man at the toll booth waved us all through.... but a woman in a car took a dislike to that, and attempted to grab lemmings as he went past her car....

Crazy!

Must admit there's always a very slight dilemma about how far to filter to the front at say a queue to pay of for fuel or passports etc...but only a very slight one
But if you were being waved through you were being waved through.

The traffic for the old severn bridge was rather heavy.. so the kind man at the toll booth waved us all through.... but a woman in a car took a dislike to that, and attempted to grab lemmings as he went past her car....

Maybe she'd broken down and wanted a tow

No seriously that's unbelievable! She's lucky it was someone sensible like lemmings.
I was told about some bikers who were undertaken/cut up on a roundabout in Newport recently. They chased the boy racers car and kicked off wing mirror as they passed!

Umh... just as well I wasnt there.. I would have been off the bike and having a word. Some people just dont get it and need educating in a polite and firm way.

I was undecided whether to lead us all thru' a coned off toll booth, there's plenty of space to get round the barrier. Maybe they would get us all for driving without due care and attention.

Once the guy had started to wave us on, we were off like a rat up a drainpipe.

Didn't see that incident as I was tail-gunner at that point. What a stupid cow.
