I'm prob gonna need help putting our tent up at Falc won't be able to give me a hand - will some kind person be able to help :?
No probs :D .... well as long as its a simple one!!!
its brand new so i'm hoping it has instructions :? but i will still be hopeless thank you much appreciated
What tent is it T, If you got it in Milletts none of there's take one person more than 5 mins to put up on there own, there dead easy.

Yer we have a milletts one, ill have a go at some point in the back garden. I think the real skill is getting it back into its small bag :shock:

hey guys, i just had a cancelation that weekend and im now thinking of coming to the AR06, is there any space left to pitch up? also what times will ppl be geting there on friday cause its about a 2 1/2 hr ride from here and i might not be able to get the friday off.

Just about to say that as well. I'll be buggered if I'm riding all the way down only to find they have let my space go. What's a deposit for if not to guarantee your pitch !! :evil:

When I phoned to book places they didnt ask for a deposit does that mean we aren't guaranteed a place?

just phoned and spoke to Becky... she said it is fine and there is plenty of room !!
Maybe if there is someone local that can pop in and double check in person that would be good ?
When John and i first enquired they said there would be plenty of room and if the field did get full up they have another by it which we could use if it was needed.

I really don't think space will be an issue. I'm sure we can get organised enough to come up with a proper system, layout that would cater for all.
If space is going to be an issue, I'm sure lining all the bikes in one row would save a serious amount of space. We could all interlock the bikes for added security as well.

I was thinking of popping in anyway. I never got a reply to my last email. I think the problem is that they don't talk to each other down there, so you get a different answer from different people.
I'm dealing with Steve and I shall stick with him.
I'll nip down one night and sort it out.

Liz also said tonight that we can always pitch our tents closer together than on a normal campsite where peeps don't know each other and that way we'll make a bit more room.

well friday is my busy day and Mrs Q soesnt finish til 6.. but we are only 40 mins away-
so we will be there 8 ish- quick tent up and beer...
I think maybe the guy means first come first served in terms of best pitches..
but like has been said previous- (snoring aside- ... Guilty! - but hey we all have ear plugs) we can pop the tents a little closer than national camping guidelines and we can have one area for bikes.. might be better actually - parking the bikes up in an organised fashion... looks liek theres gonna be about 40 folk camping then?....cool

AND- they should accommodate us- its money aint it- and its beers in the pub- if we will all fit in the pub??... maybe it will be a BBQ and tinnies.!

the latest forecast seems to be for sat to be partly cloudy but not as hot as at the moment, temp around 20c , hot enough for me, and only a few showers if any.

was just saying to Kim last night-
imagine the folk in the tents/caravans- nice weekend in Shropshire planned.. they pitch up friday morn- sound of the countryside and enjoy a lovely friday morning..
then friday aternoon they see AND HEAR one or two bikes...
"oo never mind Maureen- its only a couple"....
well- you know the rest.!!!!!!!!!!!!
I know we aint rowdy and noisy and are not big noisy lets go topless biker bikers.. but .. some of the campers are gonna have pre conceptions- so maybe its up to us to change their ideasof bikers....
that said- .. any of the ladies wanna go topless ala Sturgess.. then feel free. !!

Local supermarket, there's one nearer on the Welshpool road, it used to be a pub called the Welsh Harp. Here's a link.

Quite close to the campsite and a lot less busy than Sainsburys.
I've created maps and updated the Rideout 2006 web page for the main site, problem is that the main site is still down due to it's relocation. I'll put it up as soon as possible.
I would ask about using BBQ's. I don't see that it's a problem being a camp site, but it would be good to keep on their good side, we might want to use the place again. :wink:

I went there today- its only 50 mins from me !...
took some pics to assist folk, and let u see whats its like-
but- unsure wheter to post them?
dont know if folk want to see or not- would it ruin the surprise..
one thing- the lady says we can have BBQ's no problem as long as they are off the floor and dont burn the grass.! sure we can find some bricks or empty beer cans !
Plus we have our very very own field !!... its ace.. it isnt next to the river (the field) but hey .. its not far.. there is a field next to the river but that already has campers on- and one area adjacent to us has caravans.. BUT our field is where they always have bikerw-
they are bikers themselves ! they have just had 2 big biker gatherings in this field.. its right at the back of the car park and actually it is nearer to the ablusions than the othr field and cos it aitn next the river-- there will be less mossies.. !! - theres a nice littel path to the river from "our" field.. but its a bit far to drop the beers in!!......
me thinks I will bring a couple of buckets to fill with water from the tap and the beers can go in there.. (well mine can)..
so I have pics and a vide.. but should i pop them up--
suppose could put them in another thread and say at the begining- if u dont wanna see if u want a surprise then dont look..! plus dont wanan tread on John or ED's toes..
I passed the bloody river Seven- over it via bridges 4 times!!.. it really must meander--
ooo theres an ace place down the path and ON the river .. a big embankment-! right onthe river- perfect for sat night gathering.. BBQ's n beers..
Hey you're not trading on any toes Quiff, post away!!!! I've already posted a few. Seems you liked the gaff. Pub does good food too. It's a great spot to sit and watch the world go by (not that much world does go by Montford Bridge) and have a few beers
