View Full Version : 130MPH+ on a public road!!!
i cant believe how many pages this thread has generated.
Im not. Given the speed involved in the argument it needed a fair bit of stopping distance :P :twisted: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol:

So are we in agreement then that riding at 130mph on the public road, IS in fact cool, hard, and the stuff that all real bikers are made of?

Pretty much the faster the better, speed limits are only suggestions anyway

Have not read the whole thread (read war and piece instead with unabridged version of Lord of the Rings thrown in for good measure)
IMHO, cant see any problems with the speed, have(do) often open the bike up full.
Maybe I am lucky but the roads up here are fantastic for it and in general very quiet.
I also know the risks completely by doing so and I accept them. TBH speed was one of the reasons I got the bike.
I have driven all my life (30 years) outside the NSL (never in town or built up area)and never have had an accident.
That should stir up the hornets nest again :twisted: :evil:

my car is for going to the shops in.
my bike is for fun,
speed = danger = fun.
equation solved :twisted: :twisted: :twisted:
of course its easy for me, having my own private race track and alll that. :oops:
Hello peeps, just back from holiday with no net access - so only saw this late last night.
I posted my views weekend before last over on Photos and so I won't repeat them.
Some dismal criticism of Martin Paton on here. Martin's no longer around on here to answer for himself. Just remember that Martin is a professional pilot for a commercial passenger airline - and no doubt this influences his views on safety. Views which he is perfectly entitled to hold, IMHO.

Quite true... you wouldn't want him bending the rules when flying the plane you're in :? "hmm... let's see what this baby can do, shall we?... oops... ran out of runway..." :? Not good, me thinks, and one that is professionally trained to do his job absolutely by the book, will always have the tendency to do everything else by the book. You're quite right there, Mr. Ed (nope, not calling you a horse, just being polite! :lol: )
