SV650 k1 Reg/rec... so I believe it might be a common fault then.
 

Hi guys, sorry if theres plenty of threads on this subject, thought it would be a hec of a lot easier just poting another to try and get a straight answer.

Basically, when the bike is cold/been sat for a few hours. when increasing revs the headlights will go brighter as they should. but when its warmed up a bit (after a few miles), the dash lights will suddenly dim, and i assume headlights too whilst riding. blipping the throttle dims the headlights when sat still.

So, what is this common fault with the reg/recs then? Ive just read some 'very brief' things searching on google, nothing that makes me say "Thats exactly whats happening" but i would like to get to the bottom of it.

I had to put a new battery on it back in november as it was being a bugger to start untill it just wouldnt turn the engine over at all! The new battery has been fine starting the bike, im just worried that its more a gradual thing that'll eat away at this battery too

Have a read through this thread and if you have a multimeter try this fault finder HTH. Seems that some curvy's eat reg/recs and some dont? mine did.
